Hi,

I went through the articles and FAQ on rain water harvesting. I need to know if you are aware of any NGOs or organisations which take care of this in Hyderabad? We are looking at rain water harvesting mainly for ground water recharge

Thank you

Hi Team,

This is Sridhar from Bachupally, Hyderabad. Of late, people are resorting to selling water from private land/plots to tankers and they are drawing huge amounts of water for private and profit making purposes. This is leading to ground water level falling to extreme levels.

Please advise on how can be handle such scenarios, given the fact that these guys have established political background.

Yours sincerely,

Sridhar Vedhanabatla

Dear Sir

Recently I have dug a borewell in Hyderabad, where due to non-availability of water I was forced to go to the depth of 1335 ft. I have got water more than 1 inch at this depth. Layers with slight wetness were found at depths of 250/600/800/900 ft but water didnt came up while digging, only very slight wet powder came up.

Please suggest suitable, best quality energy efficient pump, pipes & wiring for this.

Thanks

I am working on Watershed Analysis using Remote Sensing & GIS as a part of my Ph.D. research. I have 26 years of experience both in Civil Engineering and Remote Sensing & GIS.

Currently, I am working as Associate Professor in Department of Civil Engineering in a private engineering college at Hyderabad. If you can provide NGO's List who are working on Watershed Development, I would like to associate with them in the development process as a volunteer.

Thanks in advance,

Water hardly an agenda for politicians

Two of the three main political parties in fray for the Parliamentary elections, the Congress and the BJP, have just paid lip service to water conservation, while the AAP is atleast talking about Gram Sabhas holding decision making powers for water projects

Policy matters this week: SC committee rejects 23 of 24 hydel projects in Uttarakhand; WB govt planning to amend Land Reform Act; HC orders Gujarat to properly implement the water project.

Abolish manual scavenging: SC

The Supreme Court has ordered all states to abolish manual scavenging and undertake measures to rehabilitate manual scavengers. It has also directed the states to pay a compensation of Rs.10 lakh each to the family of manual scavengers who have died while entering sewers.
