Dina Zaman
Dina is a water researcher working on livelihoods, resilience, and climate adaptation in India’s agrarian drylands. Her doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur centred on urban water management, particularly in secondary Indian cities. A fortunate opportunity then took her from city pipelines to rural canals. For the past two years, she has worked with farmers in Raichur, Karnataka, exploring how water access intersects with caste and gender to create a hydro-socially stratified landscape that shapes who can continue and thrive in farming and who is pushed out of the very livelihoods of their ancestors. She is a Senior Research Associate with the Transformation Research team at WELL Labs.
