The depth of the borewell is around 600ft in which the motor is placed neatly at 550 ft. There's an issue with the borewell. Initially when the motor is switched on, it shows 15 Amps and almost 2 inches water is pumped out for about 10 min. Then gradually it comes down upto 12amps and the water flow is also reduced upto 1 inch. Again when the motor is switched off and on again within few seconds, the water pumped is again 2 inches and shows 15amps. Please clarify, if there can be any problem with the motor or is it related with level of water?

We have to dig a borewell in Asangaon (Thane, Maharashtra). The expected depth to get water is 500 to 530 feet. The area is a bit narrow. So only a portable machine can be used. Are there portable drilling machines that can go beyond 500 ft? Are there any such service providers near Asangaon?

We have around 400 feet borewell, but for some reason we did not use it for long. Recently, we tried to use the borewell but could not extract any water, so we tried to pull the motor to see if it was functioning properly. However, while pulling the motor up it fell into the borehole but the remaining cable and pipes came up. We have realised that removing the old motor or fixing the new one would cost us same. Now my question is that if we leave the old motor inside will it cause any problem in future?

The latest study shows declining reserves and rising carbon dioxide emissions from pumping groundwater add to India’s environmental woes.

Over-extraction of groundwater is a major environmental challenge in many parts of India. It is not only leading to a rapid decline in groundwater reserves but also contributing to India’s carbon emissions, a new study has warned.

A 7.5 hp motor supplies to 06 number of G+3 building overhead tanks. At times, when few (say 04) buildings overhead tank are full, the pipeline system and motor gets pressurized due to supply to only 02 buildings. The pipe line is 2.5 inch dia. I have heard, variable speed motor may be helpful. Also, if someone can suggest auto shut/open system for such arrangement where there is supply from one motor is to 06 buildings.

Hello all,

We have 2 existing borewells as point marked by water dividers. We are not getting water from borewells. One of borewell has been dug upto the depth of 350 ft. We are getting very less water if we run motor once in a week. Please suggest either to go deeper on this or find new water points.

Location: 5 kms from Oragadam Sipoct towards Kanchipuram

Thanks in advance
