Received over email.

We at Indus International School, are interested in providing safe portable water to a village which has around 1500 residents. We do not want to look at expensive means like the RO but do want to provide a simple low cost model to provide water. The source of the water for the village is from a borewell and there is an overhead tank where the water is pumped up. The same water is used for drinking and domestic use.

Hello,

We have dug a borewell which is 175 feet deep. The water is available at 60 feet and a pump is fit at 165ft. The borewell has a casing for 30ft.

For some strange reason, the dirty water at the surface is seeping into groundwater making it unusable for household purposes and gives a dirty smell too. We have tried cleaning the borewell but didn't help much. The problem was resolved for a few days but we again faced the same issue.

Can anyone guide us by giving a permanent solution please?

Hello,

I have a 1200 sqft site in Bangalore where a truck mounted rig/driller cannot reach the exact spot due to space constraint. However, the truck can reach till about 50-70 feet distance from the point of drilling. Since typical rigs are not able to reach the site, I'm worried s to whether I can have the borewell in my site.
Are there other types of borewells which are not truck mounted/heavy length which can serve the purpose? Please suggest.

Thanks,
Manju

Hi,

I have recently dug a bore well and have got water on 675 feet. I need assistance in deciding the capacity of the motor I need to use. Some suggestions have been that I should use a 3HP, 40 Stages, 3-Phase motor. Is this correct? Kindly suggest.

please suggest as to how the broken drill bit can be removed so that I can drill another 20 feet to get sufficient water in my borewell.

Hello,

I have tried several ball valves in my sump tank. But it does not last long and needs to be repaired several times. I want to know if there is any other alternative to a ball valve or a modified version of the same that lasts longer.
