The People's Science Institute is known in India's voluntary sector for its pioneering work in the fields of community-led watershed-based livelihoods development, environmental quality monitoring, disaster-safe housing and dissemination of appropriate technologies.

The training

ACWADAM will facilitate this 5 day training along with PSI team. It includes field work to understand the dynamics of groundwater i.e. springs in Himalayan region.

This specialized training will focus on:

• Springs - Groundwater in Himalayan context
• Spring hydrogeology
• Forest-water linkage in a springshed
• Springshed planning
• Spring discharge data analysis
• Introduction to groundwater and sanitation
• Spring water quality and data interpretation
• Fieldwork for hydrogeological mapping in Himalayan context
• PGWM based on springs in Himalayan region
