Organisation Background:

Job Purpose:
To provide technical oversight for rejuvenation of water bodies, construction of infiltration well, cattle trough, establishment of water storage tanks, laying pipelines, construction of Rainwater Harvesting and Grey Water Management systems. The role requires adherence to quality construction standards, collaboration with consultant Hydrologist, Programme Manager and WASH Advisor
Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct technical assessments for rejuvenation of ponds, infiltration wells, OHTs, and pipelines
Preparing design and estimations as needed
Send out request for quotation to empanelled contractors and participate in procurement committee
Supervise contractors and construction teams, ensuring quality standards and timely completion of work
Facilitate Skill building of local plumbers, masons and electricians identified
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports as required
Maintain stage wise construction tracker and progress against time trackers
Any other task as required for the effective implementation of projects
Participate in relevant review meetings and donor meetings as and when required
Essential Educational and Skill Requirements:
Civil Engineering degree with demonstrated experience in implementing WASH infrastructure especially water body rejuvenation, reviving traditional water sources and water management projects
Strong numeric and budget management skills and very high levels of integrity
Communication and reporting skills, verbal and written in English & Tamil
Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation and time management skills
Proficient in computers, especially CAD and MS Office tools
