Duration: 1 year, with prospects of extension based on performance, project continuation and fund availability

CTC/Salary: Rs. 30,000/- per month

Job Description:
The Programme Associate – Environment will be responsible for supporting the Environment Programme of the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
• Support in planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of Environment and Climate Change programme in alignment with child rights principles and organizational priorities
• Assist in development and tracking of Annual Work Plans, intervention strategies, targets, and programme performance indicators of the environment and Climate change work of CINI
• Provide field-level coordination and technical support for implementation of environment and climate change interventions
• Support integration of climate change and environmental sustainability components within ongoing thematic programmes of CINI
• Assist in development and updation of programme guidelines, monitoring tools, IEC materials, SBCC materials, training modules, and resource kits
• Conduct field monitoring visits, support quality assurance of programme/project implementation, and ensure timely achievement of programme/project deliverables and reporting
• Collect, compile, analyse, and document programme data, case studies, best practices, lessons learned, and success stories
• Contribute to preparation of concept notes, project proposals, technical reports, donor reports, and presentations
• Support organization of awareness generation events, training, workshops, consultations, and capacity-building initiatives for staff, community groups, adolescents, schools, SHGs, and stakeholders
• Support research, assessments, surveys, and baseline/endline studies related to environment and climate change initiatives
• Support linkage with government departments, municipalities, academic institutions, NGOs, private sector partners, and other stakeholders for programme implementation and networking
• Support advocacy initiatives and preparation of policy briefs, communication materials, and technical documents

Educational Qualification, Experience & Language Proficiency:
• Post-graduation in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environment Management, Climate Science/Education, Disaster Management, Geography, Ecology & Sustainable Development, Rural Development, Social Sciences or related disciplines
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in environmental and/or climate-related programmes/projects/interventions; experience working with NGOs, urban or rural communities will be preferred
• Good understanding of climate change, environmental health, climate adaptation and resilience, sustainability, and community engagement
• Good communication, facilitation, documentation, and reporting skills
• Fluency in English and Bengali, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant IT tools
• Willingness to travel frequently in project areas

Desirable Skills:
• Working knowledge of Hindi
• Experience in project coordination, monitoring and stakeholder engagement, ability to manage budgets and timelines
• Knowledge of environmental policies, child rights principles and child-centred climate action
• Knowledge of proposal development
• Experience in research, training and community mobilization

Travel Requirement:
The selected candidate will be expected to travel as per organizational requirements.
