We are looking for a Digital Content Creator- Copy (English) who can help us translate long form pieces into compelling digital stories. This is an editorial and creative role at the intersection of storytelling, digital media and audience engagement. The person will be responsible for identifying the most compelling angle within IWP’s stories for our audience(s) and determining how it can be best presented across digital platforms,  whether through a social media carousel, caption, short video, newsletter, website package, campaign or collaboration.

Key responsibilities

1. Digital storytelling and content creation

  • Identify compelling angles in IWP’s stories, research and knowledge resources and translate them into engaging digital content.

  • Develop concepts, narratives and copy across social media, newsletters, video, website and other digital channels.

  • Shape campaigns, series, carousels, scripts and other storytelling formats suited to different audiences and platforms.

  • Work closely with designers, videographers, editors and other creative partners to take ideas from concept to execution.

  • Have basic design sensibility and a good eye for layout, visual hierarchy and presentation, with working familiarity with tools such as Canva.

2. Digital content strategy and audience growth

  • Work with the IWP team to develop and implement a digital strategy that builds readership, reach and engagement.

  • Identify the right mix of content, campaigns, collaborations and formats to reach and grow IWP’s audiences.

  • Use audience behaviour and platform trends to inform what IWP creates and how it is distributed.

3. Content curation and editorial packaging

  • Track relevant conversations and developments across water, environment, climate and development.

  • Curate thematic newsletters and other content packages that connect IWP’s own work with wider sector conversations.

  • Work with the editorial team to strengthen headlines, summaries, framing and repurposing of long-form content for digital audiences.

4. Campaigns, collaborations and experimentation

  • Conceptualise campaigns and recurring series, including the central idea and how they come alive across platforms.

  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with organisations, creators, journalists and other relevant voices.

  • Experiment with new formats and storytelling approaches to extend IWP’s reach and engagement.

5. Audience insights and reporting

  • Track performance and report on key metrics across platforms.

  • Identify patterns in what audiences respond to and why.

  • Bring these insights back into IWP’s editorial, storytelling and digital planning.

What we're looking for

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in digital media, journalism, editorial content, communications or a related field.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong editorial judgement and an instinct for what will interest digital audiences.

  • Ability to find compelling angles in complex material and translate them into clear, engaging content without losing nuance.

  • Strong understanding of how content, campaigns and storytelling work across social media, newsletters, websites and other digital channels.

  • Ability to take an idea from concept to execution, including working closely with design, video and other creative teams to bring it to life.

  • Familiarity with audience analytics and using performance insights to improve content and strategy.

  • Experience in public-interest media, water, environment, climate, development or policy would be an advantage.
