WaterAid India exists to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing clean water, improved sanitation, and hygiene, creating a healthier, equitable, and more sustainable future for all.
Our work leverages demonstration models, community-level advocacy, and collaboration with government bodies to scale impactful solutions and expand sustainable Water, sanitation and Hygiene services. With operations spanning 10 states, 40 districts, 1,245 villages and four towns/cities, WaterAid India reached over 12,00,000 individuals in 2023-24 through our WASH programs.
Build rapport with communities, rural bodies, and frontline functionaries in the intervention area.
Conduct regular field-level meetings.
Facilitate behavior change communication campaigns around water and water security.
Identify and develop the capacities of communities, particularly women, as leaders and water champions.
Build and strengthen community institutions and O&M (Operation & Maintenance) committees to ensure sustainability of water recharge infrastructure created under the project or by the government.
Ensure all project-related mandatory MIS (Management Information System) records at the community and institution level are properly maintained and updated.
Activate and form mandated institution committees and water user groups.
Conduct community-level meetings.
Mobilize local community members for various meetings.
Mobilize funds for hardware construction.
Undertake discussions with institution heads on O&M and financial contributions.
Monitor hardware construction works in coordination with technicians.
Undertake water security sensitization programs including campaigns, water quality testing, and awareness programs.
Bachelor’s degree or higher. An additional qualification in water, sanitation, or hygiene education is an added advantage
Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience in a reputed NGO.
Strong communication skills.
Experience in community mobilization, institution building, and behavior change.
Experience with rural or urban water conservation projects is an added advantage.
