The study finds that Doddballapur town has 100 per cent dependence on groundwater, has virtually no underground drainage system in place, and has had an exponential growth in solid waste production in recent times. In this context, the study recommends, that the town's authorities and citizens have little option left but to consider and explore alternate sources of water, protect existing water sources from pollution, consider various options for adequate sanitation, actively encourage economic and ethical practices of managing its waste, in order to meet the basic needs of all its citizens as well as visitors to the town.
