I am Raj Gaurav from Patna, Bihar. I have 260 ft boring and bore of 1 inch for which I use 1 hp motor. Initially (upto 1 year ) the motor would run on 8 amp (average). I had switched on the motor once when there was high voltage, and made the motor work for 5 minutes after which I switched it off.  When I wanted to use it the next time it started showing voltage rating when MCB was off and same voltage when MCB was on. The ammeter showed high current after which the motor stopped working. I want to know why our motor is taking high current by motor.
