We had borewell with depth of 560 feet. We re-drilled it to get to 700 feet. After 600 feet we got clay type mud. At 670 feet we got about 4 inch water and we finished drill till 690 feet. After 10 hours when we started putting motor in the borewell it went till 610 feet. There was only muddy water which lasted for 30-40 min. We lost the point of source of water as it got filled with mud. Now we have kept the motor at 545 feet and now there is hardly any water and it runs only for 5 min and water is muddy.

We bought a used house in January 2019. They bored a well upto 700 ft and installed 2 hp submersible pump at 590 ft with 1 inch pipe. We did some renovation work. At the beginning of the month of May, amp meter went higher, but we didn't get water. Technicians checked the panel board for inspecting the submersible pump. So we planned to lift pump, but after removing 40 ft of pipes, pump got stuck and couldn't be lifted. After struggling for a long time, they pushed the pipe down and then lifted it.

Can any body help me in solving this? I have a borewell with a depth of 480 ft. Unfortunately, while drilling we encountered mud present at 440 feet along with water. We continued drilling till 480 feet and stopped. Now the concern is at what level the pump should be placed for optimum performance? Also does the water level will improve during rainy seasons?

India is facing a major water crisis and a number of water sector challenges remain unaddressed even today.

India is on the brink of a major water crisis. With drought looming over the southern and western parts of the country, the existing water resources are in peril. Rivers are getting more polluted, their catchments, water-holding and water-harvesting mechanisms are deteriorating and groundwater levels are depleting at an alarming rate.

I have 350 ft deep borwell in field. There is presence of stone at 295 ft which is not allowing the motor to get inserted into the borewell. Even flushing the borewell twice did not work. Is there any chemical agent available for stone cracking. Please advise.

I have a 525 ft deep borewell dug in granite rock. At the time of drilling, about 5 years ago, water was struck after 480 ft & moreso after 500 ft. After that we noticed that water was over flowing the casing pipe ( 2 ft above ground level) for atleast 6 days. We inserted a 3 hp multistage motor upto 480 ft. Our observation is that the bore output is 1.5 to 2 inch for an hour & after that it gradually drops to 1/2 inch.

Is there any company or contractor in Kolkata who can retrieve a submersible pump from a domestic borewell of 80 ft depth. The local mechanic has tried to lift it, but they could not lift the pump and all pipes came up leaving pump and cable in the borehole fitted with 4 inch dia casing.
