Hello

We have 3 old wells. We want to clean them up internally such that the mud below is removed and the springs that are the source of the well gets recharged. One of the wells is giving a foul smell in the water and another one is giving a little salty water. Could you please guide me on this?

Also there is hardly any water left in 2 of the wells, we seem to have reached the bottom, there is barely 1 ft water in them.

Thanks

Sachin

Hi

We have lakes / check dam's close to our land; in the West, at about 1 km there is a lake, in the North at 700 meters is a lake and in the South, at 102 meters is a check dam, where till April, there was water at 2 feet depth, and during monsoon it had 8 to 10 feet depth.40 feet from the land there is a small canal running and water will be there during monsoons/rainy days.

But this land and another 4 /5 close by lands do not have electricity, and farming can happen only by using rain water (Rain fed).

Hi

Why is the discharge range in water pumps mentioned with 2 numbers where the 2nd number is less than the 1st one, for example "Discharge Range : 3150-880 LPH" or "42 - 12.5 LPM" ?

Thanks

Dear IWP

Our bank corporate office with kitchen facility wants to install a STP plant. Here, the average per day water consumption is around 6-8 KLD. I am looking for guidance on this matter, whether it is feasible to install a STP Plant? If yes, then what should be the size of the plant.I have space constraint and our project manager will not allow us top that limit. So please share information with me on the size that needs to be installed for the above mentioned water consumption.

Thanks

Ram Narayan

Hi

Water is going to be scarce in future. Are there any arrangements to collect treated water by local water boards from large apartments and distribute the water for reuse like gardening, washing floors, flushing etc instead of using potable water for non potable purposes? Please share more information on this.

Thanks

Hi IWP

In my apartment in Bangalore where 32 families stay, water is first filled into a sump through the borewell and then it is pumped to overhead tank(OHT). We can see that lot of sand/slit is being accumulated in the overhead tank causing blockage in taps and pipelines. Is there any solution to prevent this? I think a filter can be used to filter such big particles at inlet or outlet of the pipe which goes from sump to overhead tank but am not sure if any such solution exists.
