I had dug a borewell in 2002 in Rourkela, Orissa. Depth of well was 165 ft with PVC casing of 80 ft. Till 2009 it worked satisfactory. This year after March it failed to supply water with its jet pump. The persons who were drilling said ' The borewell is failed, and washing wont help".

So I need help in suggestion, whether well can be revied or to be abonded? Will borewell work in rainy season from june to december?

I had undertaken the drilling of a borewell at my house located near the river bank ‘Bramhani’-village in Bonai Sub-Division, 40-50 Kms from Rourkela, Orissa. The operator could not dig after 45 feet as the conditions were of wet soil with small and medium stones. The diameter of the failed borewell is six inches. Surrounding places have functional borewells.

The operator was suggesting to call for another digging machine having rotary facility (rotary compressor) for drilling.Kindly suggest a suitable solution to this problem.

I am living in Rourkela, Orissa. I have  a bore well connection for water supply. There are two problems I am facing:

1. Every drop of water  leaves a white mark behind. This white mark is powdery n can be scratched with some effort. All the utensils and all the sanitary items on which water has fallen have become spotted. They disapear when washed with water n then reappear when dry. I guess its calcium.
