QUESTION
Turbidity & particle size conditions for use of water in sprinklers in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

I am employed with the Government of Himachal Pradesh and am presently working as Chief Engineer with the Irrigation and Public Health Department. We have invited bids on turn key basis for providing irrigation facility to approximately 2250 hectare land in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. The source is a Hydel Channel of a hydel project where the average turbidity is 2500 PPM. It also contains silt as the project is based on Beas and Satlej River.

The Source is the feeder Canal of the Beas satlej link  Hydel Project located in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh where average turbidity is 2500 PPM in normal condition except two months of monsoon when it reaches upto 10000 PPM. But in these months water requirement would be nil.

Please advise on level of turbidity and particle size to be removed from water to make it usable in sprinklers. Can you please give references also? I shall be obliged if my queries are answered.
