Questions on long term bore water availability for a 100 feet borewell in Visweswaraya Layout, Bangalore,Karnataka

Published on

I dug a borewell today at my site in Visweswaraya Layout, Bangalore. We hit rock at 60 feet, and we put the casing till 60 feet. We dug further and at 100 feet we struck water, about 4 inches. Thereafter we wanted to go further down, but when we reached 125 feet we started getting pieces of rocks (size 2x2 inches) The borewell digging agent stopped digging further stating that it would not be possible to go further.

Now my question is, since we struck water at 100 ft will the water last and or there be any problem in future with the borewell going dry.

Most of the houses in the surrounding have struck water at 100-150 ft and they were all able to go well beyond 450 feet. I'm now getting worried if my new borewell would not last long and I would face pertinent problem with water in coming years.

Any advice or opinion is most welcome.
