Hi IWP

In my apartment in Bangalore where 32 families stay, water is first filled into a sump through the borewell and then it is pumped to overhead tank(OHT). We can see that lot of sand/slit is being accumulated in the overhead tank causing blockage in taps and pipelines. Is there any solution to prevent this? I think a filter can be used to filter such big particles at inlet or outlet of the pipe which goes from sump to overhead tank but am not sure if any such solution exists.

Also this filter may slow down the flow towards OHT and cause damage to pump.  Can anyone please suggest possible solutions and contact person.
