QUESTION
Query from Mangalore, Karnataka : Can digging borewell within an existing well increase the yield

I have dug a well in my native place in Udupi (Mangalore, Karnataka). Rock was struck at 18 feet which was clasted at 24 feet. Water was struck from the rock fissue. There are two types of rock that can be seen with about 3/4 of the well having solid rock and the remaining "soft rock".

There is a common crack of 2mm vertically from the 18 to the 24 feet. Will it be able to dig a borewell in this water yielding crack? Will this result in a better yield of water?
