Dear IWP

I failed to get an electric connection for my field, and hence am using a diesel pumpset to pump water from already existing well.Now I wish to dig a bore to be able to get more water. Will it be technically possible to use a diesel engine to lift water over a suction head of more than 200 feet? What are the modalities in practice? If I couple a diesel engine with an air compressor, will it work? Will any important modifications be needed in the engine like addition of pulley to reduce/increase speed?
