I am an electrical engineer from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and currently pursuing Master in Photovoltaics and Solar Energy at University of New South Wales, Sydney. I am working on a project dealing with the market, economic and technical evaluation of Solar Water Pumping in India. In order to start with the market evaluation I wanted to know the following:

   1. The present uses of water and corresponding pumping systems used in rural India

   2. Any document that gives the description of the use of pumps in the rural region.
