I am staying in a 5 story apartment with 42 flats in Hyderabad. We have 2 bore wells for supply of water. Our borewells are getting dried up during the summer. This year after Feb 2009 we are getting water for only 1/2 hour every 4 hours. As a long term solution we are planning to implement a rain water harvesting system. We contacted a few people and after the study they have given a proposal to implement recharge shaft with recharge bore well. ( the details are in attached documents). The estimated cost for this around 1.5 lacs

My Questions are:

1. How effective is recharge in borewell mechanism?
2. If we implement this RWH, what are chances that our existing bore wells will provide water for whole year. The vendor who has done this analysis is suggesting that after 5 year of recharge our borewells will become 100 percent useful.
3. Is the cost reasonable?
