We work in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. One of the severe problems that is arising in the region is with the management of inorganic waste (especially plastic) that is generated during the tourist season - April to September, each year. The community is now trying to explore the option of incineration to dispose off such waste. Since this is an extremely remote location, they are looking for options that require minimum maintenance and can be operated by basic training given to semi-skilled personnel.
