I am working for a USAID project in India. Currently we are interested in collecting information regarding the specified standards for septic tank, and sewage treatments in general. Would like to have information regarding the standards if any, and who sets, enforces the same. Also information on any related construction codes would be welcome.

We are compiling information on the use of septic tanks in India and current practices in sewage treatment. We would like to promote some good practices in sanitation through hands on exposure.
