I am a doctor and resident of Purbachalnagar, Chandmari, Guwahati. On 18th oct, a drilling was done on a government land for a government scheme to supply water to a 4km radial area by pulling out a proposed 1,20,000 litres/day water, but the persons involved haven't been transparent with the process with local public. The proposed depth of the bore is 1000 ft. After digging 260 ft, they quickly stopped drilling further citing inability to proceed due to high water pressure. As all inhabitants of the locality are dependant on well water, there has been great resentment and tension around. Kindly advise.
