I am living in Kolkata near EM Byepass , TDS on checking is 1740.

Consulted with an expert who suggested following:

1. Setup/install HDPA Iron Removal unit on rooftop beside overhead water tank-- which will provide iron free water for toilet and washing purpose.

2. Use RO unit for drinking and cooking.

The above solution will cost me around Rs. 40000 plus recurring annual maintenance approx Rs5000-6000.

Can anyone suggest a cheaper and low maintenance alternative ?
