What is the best material for a water tank for home?  I have read that wood is the best.  Interest was spurred by this Article:http://cooperator.com/articles/202/1/Rooftop-Water-Tanks/Page1.html 

From a placement perspective, is there a difference in overhead versus ground-level tanks, its advantages and disadvantages?

1. End use of stored water - Household usage including drinking.  However, for drinking, there would be additional filtering, perhaps.

2. Location of house? - If you mean the city, it is near the coast of Chennai

3. Planned position & capacity of tank - Undecided.  What would be the best for a 2500 sq. ft 2 story home?
