We are located at Charkhari, Dist. Mahoba, U.P. in the Bundelkhand region. Our problem is that though our open well [from which we draw water] is more than sufficient for our buildings daily needs [ about 4000 litres]; The water quality is brackish, hard and therefore cannot be used for drinking. It is ok for the bathrooms etc though I suspect that scales will build up over the years.

We would like advice on a softening process that can treat the water after the pump and before it enters the overhead tanks. I would be grateful if you can help me so that I know how to solve this problem.
