QUESTION
Need advice on borewell digging, pipe and pump specification for a house in Tumkur, Karnataka

My Experience with Bore well Drilling

  1. 1.       Bore well drilling

We got the local water diviner person and he gave one point in our farm land stating 3 inches water is there. We again got this checked by Geologist and he said the same thing and he also told us that we will get water points at 350, 450 and at 550 – 600 Feet. So he recommended us to drill upto 650 Feet.  We drilled on date 26th Feb and we got water at 250 feet, 350 feet and at 450 Feet. 0.75 inches of water is added at each water stuck point. Total Water amount is 2.5 inches.  We continued drilling as per recommendation of Geologist till 650 feet but we did not find additional volume added to our bore though pressure of water increased little bit.  Casing was provided upto 80 Feet. All is well and whole process took about 14 hours.

Here I don’t have previous experience with borewell drilling and I don’t know what RIGHTS and WRONG’s I have done. Experts and Experienced person should highlight / advice me.

  1. 2.       Next Step:

Electricity is already available in my farm land. So my next step is installing PUMP, MOTOR, PIPE and CABLE.  I checked for cost of GI pipe, it’s costing 1450 Rs/Length. (One length is 20 Feet). It’s really costly. If I need to install 20 length then money would 29000 Rupees. Its big money.

I request Experts and experienced persons to advice me on the

  1. number of length of pipe I have to install,
  2. Type of pipe I have to install (PVC/GI) with reasons, advantages/disadvantages and
  3. Specification of motor and pump, Cable I have to fit and brand recommended.

For your information in my village electricity is given only for 6 hours / day with often fluctuation in voltage from low to high.

I thank you in advance for reading my note and responding.
