We have recently moved in to a gated community in the Whitefield suburb of east Bangalore. The community has a Sewage Treatment Plant. My question is : At what distance from the nearest house should the STP be located to avoid being exposed to the foul odour from the soak pits. Are there any standards that stipulate the location of the STP in a housing community? What are the rules / regulations that should be followed in this case?
