We have a 250 KLD effluent treatment plant. The influent is high in starch content. The plant is a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) type with 2 aeration tanks of 110 KL capacity each. Visibly we do not see any biofilm growth on the media/plastic pellets in the aeration tanks. Also we are unable to achieve desirable reduction in BOD. We were planning to seed bacterial culture from a nearby working ETP plant into our ETP aeration tank. Can you please suggest a suitable volume of the seed culture/sludge we can add considering that the volume of the aeration tanks is 110 KL
