Effect of RO water on GI / MS pipes: Is it a cause for concern to the food industry?

Can we use GI pipe for transferring RO (Treated Water) water in Food Industries or is it not advisable? What is the effect of Treated Water on GI or MS pipe? What is the properties of Treated Water? If we are using GI pipe as a Product Water then what is the effect on pipeline and water at use point. Are there any rules or regulations to this point?
