I had dug a borewell in my farm located 10km away from Denkanikota (near Hosur, Tamilnadu) in the month of Sep 08. The dia of borewell is 8"  and the borewell was dug with the normal rig machine to a depth of 600feet. I have not yet fit a submersible pump and it might take another 1-2 months to do the same as I do not have electricity connection. I would like to know whether there will be any problem in the borewell as it has been lying idle. We had put casing for a depth of 60 feet and below that it was rock and hence no casing was sunk. The borewell has been covered properly since the time it was dug.

How long I can keep the borewell like this without sinking pump?
