QUESTION
Arsenic contamination linked to type 2 diabetes: Information needed

I have recently received a mail regarding the Arsenic content of water as follows:

"Results from a study completed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) suggest that nearly 20 million Americans may be at heightened
risk for type 2 diabetes due to their exposure to arsenic. The arsenic is in the drinking water, and when the CDC tested nearly 800 people in their National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), the results showed a clear and significant association between the chemical and the disease."

This finding confirms results from similar studies done in Taiwan, Mexico, and Bangladesh, which showed that 100 mcg/L of inorganic arsenic is associated with type 2 disease. The reference email has been attached for further information. I would like to know if any such type of study was carried out in India. If so what are the findings.
