About the Organisation:

AFARM was established in 1969 as a network of organizations and remains one of the oldest and most respected NGO networks in Maharashtra. AFARM was born out of the urgent need for a coordinating body to support voluntary organizations in delivering water and agricultural extension services to drought-affected villages across the state. Over the years, AFARM has played a crucial role in strengthening the capacities of smaller organizations, enabling them to manage their operations effectively and build credibility among communities, government bodies, and the broader social sector. By providing techno-managerial support, AFARM extends its impact through its network of affiliated NGOs.

AFARM a platform for Civil Society Organizations to promote Sustainable and Equitable Development. AFARM manded to build the capacity of Civil Society Organizations through Action Research, Advocacy, Field Level Implementation Support and Consultancy efforts to expedite Effective development of the poor at grass-root and at policy level.

AFARM’s Core Program areas are i) Water Supply Augmentation & Demand Management through Integrated Watershed Management, ii) Climate Resilient and Sustainable Agriculture through strengthening of integrated agricultural systems, iii) Skills & Micro Entrepreneurship development for diversifying the livelihoods basket of the poor households & iv) Strengthening of Community institutions- farmer producer groups, farmer producer companies with active participation of Community Resource Persons.

Qualification Needed :

M.Tech (SWC or WRM) / B.Tech (Agri.)

Experience: 3-5 Years of working experience in Planning and Implementation of Integrated Watershed Development Project. Engineering Surveys, Structural & Hydrological Design & Cost estimation of Soil & Water Conservation works. Team Management. Communication with Funding Agency. Preparation of Periodical Qualitative Report & Documentation. Proficiency in Auto Cad & GIS & Other software’s.

Job Profile:

• Facilitate Village Planning for Soil & Water Conservation works under watershed projects.
• Preparation of engineering plans, Hydraulic & Structural designs & Cost estimates of Soil & Water Conservation works.
• Preparation of detailed project report for the Integrated Watershed Development & Management Project
• Organize technical training sessions on Soil & Water Conservation for the benefits of WUG and Farmers.
• Undertake periodical supervision, monitoring & evaluation of watershed works.
• Physical Verification of works & Validation of payment claims of the vendors / contractors
• Keep close coordination between the GPs/VDCs & District & Block level Govt. officials.
• Act as a resource person in the technical training sessions on Soil & Water Conservation to be organized by AFARM for NGO staff, CBO leaders & field staff of line dept. of respective Govt.
• Technical support to the Water User Group (WUG) for the efficient use of stored / recharged groundwater.
• Responsible for Overall Co-ordination & Management of project. (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.)
• Prepare & execute annual work plan & budget including convergence plan & submit to organization.
• Communication, Follow up, laisioning with Govt. Depts. for resource mobilization/ convergence.
• Periodic supervision, review & planning of activities & provide required technical and logistic support.
• Keep up to date information about the project, its progress both physical and financial and provide required feedback to organization.
• Prepare & submit the project financial and physical progress reports in compliance with the project documentation and requirements of organization,
• Identify critical issues in project implementation and submit them to the organization and take actions to address the constraints at appropriate level,
• Participate, contribute and share acquired experiences & learnings with other project partners and communities etc.
• Cooperate & participate in assessments, monitoring & evaluation as may be required within the project.

Compensation: INR 6.00 Per Annum (including Social Benefits). It will be commensurate with qualification, skills and experience as per the sector norms.
