Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Institute is non-profit training and development organization dedicated to providing practical solutions to a wide range of water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental issues in India and the neighbouring countries.

Description: Core activities of WASH Institute are conducting training programs to groom water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental professionals and functionaries from government, Non-profit organizations and other agencies, and in the involved in the WATSAN sector.

Job Profile: The organization invites applications for the post of Training coordinator. There is a high demand for the training programs hence the role is to conduct training programs which are supported by the government of India, and other organizations around the country. WASH institute has a north India office at Patna and there is need for expanding the team, so that trainers are available to conduct trainings in various states for government and professionals from NGOs and INGOs and corporate. The training programs will be extended to the South East Asian countries too. We are looking for candidates having a Post graduate degree in any of the social sciences, or with technical backgrounds. A few years of experience in water and sanitation are a must. Hindi knowledge is also a must as the training programs to be conducted for the north states mainly, and he / she should be willing to travel for 15 days a month.

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct the training programs in co-ordination with the WASH team, based on the objectives, methodology and also evaluate feedback of the training conducted.
  • Plan and design and improve training / course modules and curriculum on water supply, sanitation, environmental sanitation and hygiene from time to time based on cost effective methodologies and community based solutions.
  • Ensure the training programs are delivered are of high standards with quality and appropriate training/learning materials as part of the training package, with necessary power points and use of audio visuals to help better understanding and interesting to the participants.
  • Review existing modules at regular intervals to update its content, methodologies, tools etc. and ensuring that these course modules are up to date and meets the requirements of the WASH Institute target groups such as Communities, NGOs/CSOs, Government, INGOs, Private/Corporate, etc.
  • Support the data management of WASH website by updating the programmes conducted.
  • When there is a need, hire/engage external resource persons with a prior approval from the management and maintain data base of such resource personnel.
  • Support in conduct of long term courses the organization undertakes.
  • Plan and assist in conducting of district, state, National level workshops, Seminars, and conferences of the organization,
  • Plan or assist in developing necessary publications of the organization like case studies, concept notes, training reports, newsletters, brochures and the like, that are required to disseminate or communicate information with quality and standards.
  • Assist other the team in preparing and submission of reports to the donors and consortium partners as and when required.
  • Networking and Resource Mobilization
  • Supporting and developing tie-ups/ network with the INGOS, Government, NGOs and other training institutions within and outside the country to run the training programs of WASH Institute.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree from a recognized University in Social Work, Development Studies or a related field.
  • More than three years in the field of development and with technical knowledge in water sanitation and hygiene projects.
  • Prior experience in organizing and conduct of trainings in WATSAN
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, facilitation and training skills for delivery of trainings
  • Ability to articulate and advocate on water sanitation issues.
  • Proven networking and relationship building skills in the Government and development field.
  • Excellent computer skills (Windows environment)
  • Speaks, reads and writes English and Hindi fluently;
  • Comfortable working as a member of a culturally diverse team
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and deliver consistently on deadlines.

Travel requirements:
Person will be based at Patna office, and will travel to venue of trainings, conferences, meetings around various states and also in South East Asia countries.

Remuneration:
An annual total package of Rs. 3,60,000/- (cost to the company which includes salary, medical benefits, LTA) will be offered and the assignment is on yearly contract basis.  Salary negotiable based on experience of the candidate.
