SaciWATERs is a private, not-for-profit policy research organisation working at a south Asia level. It is committed to bringing about structural changes in the dominant water resources management paradigm in South Asia. Within this ambit, the focus is on transforming water resources knowledge systems. The key ideas are an interdisciplinary approach to understanding water resources issues from a pro-poor, gender sensitive and human development perspective with emphasis on exchange, interaction and regional collaboration at the South Asia level.

Description:
SaciWATERs seeks Senior Fellow to manage action research; capacity building and advocacy programme for water management and strengthen its presence and visibility in the south Asia region.

Job description: Senior Fellow, reporting to the Executive Director, will be independently conducting and handing action research projects and capacity building programmes (50% of time). S\he is expected to work on the outreach and data visualization of ongoing research projects (25% of time) and on future project ideas and other related work (25% of time).

Qualification: PhD in Social Science/Engineering/Environmental Science/ Natural Science/ Economics with demonstrated interdisciplinary research and orientation in academic work at South Asia Level.

Experience:
Minimum Five (5) years in Social Development Sector. Exceptional candidates with fresh PhDs may be considered with entry-level salary based on internal norms.

Duration:
2 years starting from February 2012 with possibility of extension based on the availability of projects. First six months will be on probation.

Compensation:
The compensation is INR 950,000 per annum, all inclusive. Non-Indian candidates will get a moderate housing facility and relocation allowance.
