About the Organisation:

WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network), Hyderabad is a network-based organization focusing on improving the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and livelihoods. It engages actively in policy advocacy initiatives at the state and national levels, mainly related to rainfed areas. WASSAN has contributed substantially to the development of watershed policies in various states and at the Government of India. WASSAN is also working with various partners in different states as part of the RRA Network on a rainfed agriculture-related agenda.

Job Description:
1. Conducting Participatory Varietal Trial (PVT) in millets
2. Quality seed production and Mass selection in millets
3. Planning and monitoring of organic millet production, Crop Diversity Blocks (CDB)
4. Conducting Multi-location trial in millets
5. Assist in Project training and capacity-building programs on crop production
6. Data collection, compilation and analysis
7. Report preparation & Submission
8. Liaisoning with various Government and Non-Government organization
9. Assist Research team in presentation preparation & publications
10. Any other work assigned by the organization head when and where required.

Desired Candidate Profile:
• M. Sc. (agriculture/Botany/life science) with 3-7 years’ experience in relevant sector
• An ability to travel around Odisha and outside of the state.
• Good writing, presentation, documentation, and oral communication skills in Odia, English, and Hindi, as well as knowledge of indigenous languages, would be considered an asset.
• Willing to be flexible with work timings.

Period of Contract:
The contract will be for a period of 2 years after an initial probation period of 6 months and can be extended subject to satisfactory performance and project period extension.
