About Philanthropy at Azim Premji Foundation

At the Foundation, we make multi-year grants to not-for-profit organizations that work with the most vulnerable in our society. Through such support, people who are deeply disadvantaged and marginalised are offered immediate care, access to essential services, and the possibility of a dignified future.

We make grants to civil society organizations that work on a range of thematic areas such as, urban homeless, persons with disability, women survivors of violence, adolescent girls at risk, street children, elderly poor, manual scavengers, waste pickers, migrant workers, gender and sexual minorities, small and marginal farmers, and tribal and water deficient communities.

Manager Programs – Adivasi

Under the Adivasi theme we support organizations which work for the well-being of indigenous and forest-dependent communities across the country. These include communities characterized as scheduled tribes, particularly vulnerable tribal groups or nomadic tribes as well as others with a high dependence on forest resources.

The organizations we would like to support must be focused on the well being of the community and include a wide range of interventions on land and forest rights, management and development of natural resources, access to welfare schemes and entitlements, livelihoods, health care, strengthening of local governance, legal aid, capacity building of youth and leaders, indigenous knowledge and culture.
