Job Description:
The Community Health Programme focuses on preventive healthcare in coastal communities, addressing gaps in healthcare access, knowledge, and delivery across our field sites in Odisha and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The programme’s key thematic areas include health rights and entitlements, pathways to care, non-communicable diseases, adolescent health, WASH, and community mental health.
Job Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will support the team in carrying out the following tasks:
Implement mental health initiatives through support circles, psychoeducation sessions, and other contextually relevant, community-based interventions.
Collaborate with mental health professionals, community leaders, and key stakeholders to design, coordinate, and implement mental health activities effectively.
Facilitate research and documentation by monitoring interventions, collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data, and contributing to evidence-building for community mental health practices.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience:
Master’s degree in Psychology/Social Work/Health Psychology or related fields
A basic understanding of issues related to development, conservation and environmental governance in India
Ability to plan and execute project deliverables, including field logistics and coordination
Basic action-research (quantitative and qualitative) and statistical analysis skills
Language Proficiency in English and Hindi is required. Knowledge of Odia/Telugu/Bengali will be an added advantage.
