NABARD invites applications for "Award for Rural Innovations", Mumbai, Apply by May 15, 2012

NABARD

NABARD is set up as an apex Development Bank with a mandate for facilitating credit flow for promotion and development of agriculture, small-scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and other rural crafts.

 

Objective of the award:
To recognize and reward innovations which have created a paradigm shift in the standard or quality of life in the rural India

Award categories:

  • Participants should refer to the definitions as indicated below and accordingly apply in the appropriate award category.
  • For the categories 1 to 5, the Innovation needs to be within the following six broad segments:
  • Energy
  • Training & skills up gradation
  • Financial services
  • Agriculture & Allied activities
  • Technology
  • Others

Private sector includes those companies that are owned by private individuals or groups.

Public sector/cooperative sector/government

Public sector/cooperative sector/ government institutions or business units managed and controlled by the central, state, or local government.

 Eligibility criteria for participation in the awards:

  • The Participant must be Indian citizens / individuals or Indian registered companiesor foreign companies with a registered presence in India. Individual Participant must be above18 years of age as on March 31, 2012. Failure to observe this will deem any winning entry invalid.
  • The Innovation can be a product / service / project / process / procedure / methodology developed for the rural sector by the Participant
  • The innovation must be already implemented and should not be in a planning or conceptualizing stage. The innovation should be implemented between January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2011
  • The Innovation nominated / applied must be developed within the participating organization or by an Individual and implemented in the Indian operations of the Participant in Rural India as defined above.
  • The final eligibility of the entry received will be subject to the discretion and approval of the Jury

Important date:
Filled in application form along with the supporting (photographs / certificates / video clippings, etc.)  should be sent to the address mentioned below before May 15, 2012 by 5:00 pm.

Application can either be downloaded from the website or visit the nearest NABARD Regional office or district office to get a hard copy of application.
