Project Manager, India Water Portal, Arghyam Location: Bangalore The India Water Portal, an initiative of Arghyam, Bangalore is looking for someone to join our hi-energy team. The Water Portal is an open collaborative platform to share information and knowledge in water. Water is a scarce resource with complex multi-stakeholder interactions. Problems around quantity, quality, sharing etc. have become exacerbated in recent times and public awareness is low. There is a need for an open platform for compiling knowledge, sharing experience and fostering dialogue in water issues. The Water Portal seeks to be such a platform. The Water Portal also seeks offline avenues for dissemination of content. The Portal's vision is to be a partnership-driven, community-based effort. More about the Water Portal is at www.indiawaterportal.org/about. The Water Portal is anchored and supported by Arghyam, a non-profit trust based in Bangalore. The Water Portal is gearing up to expand its reach to a national level after a successful launch earlier this year. We are looking for a dynamic person to take on the following responsibilities:

• Understand actual and potential portal usage
• Based on the above conceptualize and execute marketing and visibility-building strategies to widen the reach and usage of the portal
• Identifying potential partners and creating partnerships for generating applications and content for the Portal that fulfil particular needs

Education: Graduate with good academic record from a reputed institution. A degree in management or extensive experience in a management role is essential Experience: 8-12 years of experience in the following areas :

• IT, Marketing or Business Development role in the corporate, non-profit or social enterprise sector
• ICT for Development
• Water sector experience/interest (eg. rural NGO working on water issues, urban water supply sector) is desirablean

The candidate will need to have successfully set up and managed medium-to-large partnerships in prior roles. The ability to negotiate and establish successful, mutually beneficial relationships is critical. The person should be very comfortable and current with information technologies and passionate about their potential to create socio-economic change. Initiative and self-management are important.
