Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology (GUIDE) will catalyse the process of ameliorating hardships to human beings in desert ecosystems of Gujarat, following sound ecological principles and carefully using scientific knowledge, imaginative technology and capital.

Description:
GUIDE invites applications for the following posts:

1. Principal Scientist Pay Scale: Rs 30,400–600–37,600 in Terrestrial Ecology Division.
   Qualification and Experience: Doctorate degree in any branches of Life/Wildlife/Environmental. Sciences with fifteen years experience in relevant subject area and proven knowledge as evidenced by peer reviewed publications. Experience in EIA/EMP
   is desirable.
2. Senior Scientist Pay Scale: Rs 21,200–500–27,200 in Integrated Environmental Biology Division.
   Qualification and Experience: Doctorate degree in any branches of Life/Wildlife/Environmental
   Sciences/Natural Resources Management with ten years experience in relevant subject area and proven knowledge as evidenced by peer reviewed publications.
3. Scientist Pay Scale: Rs 17,000–400–21,800 in Coastal and Marine Division.
   Qualification and Experience: Doctorate degree with five years experience in relevant subject area and proven knowledge as evidenced by peer reviewed publications. Experience in EIA/EMP is desirable.
4. Associate Fellows and Senior Associate Fellows
   

Qualification and Experience: Master’s degree in Chemistry/Environmental Science with good academic records and experience in soil/water/air analysis, operation of relevant instruments and leadership quality in managing the laboratory. Master’s degree in Botany (Plant Taxonomy/Biodiversity) with good academic records and Knowledge in plant identification, data collection, experience in analytical techniques and preparation of study reports.

Appointment will be on contract basis.

Only short-listed candidates will be called for the interview.

The Selection Committee has the right to relax the experience in case of exceptional candidates.
