India Water Portal - Hindi is seeking a Content, Reporting & Writing Intern to assist in strengthening original reporting and engagement on Hindi content. The intern will support ground reporting coordination and will also be encouraged to write original articles and field-based stories with editorial mentorship.
This role is ideal for graduate/post graduate students or early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in journalism, water governance, environment, and digital publishing. This is a fully remote internship, allowing candidates to work from anywhere in India.
Assist in analysing Google Search Console data (impressions, CTR, rankings)
Support headline and meta-description optimisation for existing articles
Help identify duplicate URLs, thin content, and content gaps
Assist in internal linking and content structuring
Research and write short explainers, FAQs, or updates (1–2 articles per week)
Create multimedia content around the stories. (1-2 per week)
Rewrite or update existing articles for clarity and SEO (under supervision)
Interest in reporting, environment, water, or development issues
Basic understanding of SEO (training will be provided)
Good Hindi reading and writing skills
Ability to work with data and follow editorial guidelines
Willingness to learn and accept feedback
Curiosity about ground realities and people-centric stories
Basic digital literacy (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Writing for a knowledge platform
SEO-friendly content structuring
Editorial decision-making
Performance-driven journalism
Duration: 3-months
Monthly stipend: ₹15,000
Extendable based on performance and organisational requirements.
Interns who demonstrate strong writing, research, and editorial discipline will be encouraged to publish under their byline and may be considered for future fellowships or extended engagement with India Water Portal.
