About the Organization : The Coastal Conservation Foundation (CCF) is a marine conservation organisation committed to conserving and protecting the coastal and marine environments. Our goal is to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of coastal and marine ecosystems and the diverse range of species that inhabit them. We employ a multi-faceted approach that includes research, outreach, education and citizen science.

Our research projects focus on understanding ecosystems and the impact of human activities on these environments. Our goal is to help protect these habitats and their biodiversity by providing information needed to develop effective conservation strategies.

As part of our goal to protect and conserve these ecosystems, we engage with people in ways that demonstrate their value. Our outreach and educational programmes for students, community groups, and the general public are designed to increase their understanding of these ecosystem’s importance and the need to conserve them.

Citizen science is another critical aspect of CCF’s work. We involve local communities in collecting and analysing data to monitor the health of coastal habitats. This helps build a deeper appreciation of these important ecosystems and engages people in conservation efforts, and contributes scientific research on marine life across India.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing the organisation’s outreach and public engagement strategy, which includes but isn’t limited to:

· Science communication and outreach via online mediums including social media and websites

· Newsletters

· Media Releases and other outreach

· Events

· Print outreach materials

· Assist in the designing and curation of organisational reports

· Content for the organisation’s website

Qualifications/Skills:

· Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in communications with 1-3 years of experience or a master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience.

· Attention to detail and planning

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including content writing

· Understanding and experience of using social media platforms

· Understanding and experience of using Canva

Additional Skills:

· Experience of working in the field of science communication, marine sciences or nature conservation

· Design skills and experience of using Adobe Photoshop or Indesign

· Knowledge of platforms like WordPress and Mailchimp

· Formal education in ecology, marine science or earth sciences

· Writing proficiency in regional languages

· Video editing

Remuneration:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and word experience. Candidates shortlisted for the interviews will be given further details on the salary ranges to review
