Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support our ongoing work under the Sustainable Fisheries programme. With an interdisciplinary approach and action research using mixed-methods, the programme focuses on bringing sustainable transformations in the fisheries sector. The role primarily involves conceptualising, designing and implementing communication strategies for the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualise, design, and produce visual communication materials including infographics, briefs, newsletters, reports, and social media content.

• Copy edit, proofread, and refine reports, briefs, and publications to high editorial standards.

• Maintain a repository of communication assets and develop templates to manage and streamline workflow.

• Support the team in strategising and implementing communications plans in close collaboration with researchers, field teams, and partners to tailor approaches to specific audiences.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Postgraduate degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, or related fields.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex research or technical content into accessible and engaging formats, with an ability to meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with digital platforms, digital media strategy, and basic web content management.

Desirable

• 2-3 years of experience in strategic communications, preferably in research, non-profit, or development sectors.

• Experience communicating for international development, conservation, or research.
