We work to harness potential of open-source movement to enable citizens engage better with public reforms. We aim to grow data and tech literacy of governments, nonprofits, think-tanks, media houses, universities etc to enable data driven decision making at scale.

About the Fellowship:

CivicDataLab is excited to announce the  – a paid, in-person internship opportunity based in New Delhi. We are looking for a fellow to work on climate action and disaster risk reduction projects and help deepen the understanding of disaster management and governance frameworks in the country. Our projects focus on data-driven interventions to strengthen evidence based decision making.

The work would entail working with a multidisciplinary team to conduct data centric desk and field research, interacting with a diverse set of stakeholders including but not limited to government officers, domain experts and field workers to better understand the project requirements from different perspectives.  This position requires a self-starting candidate who enjoys working with data and decision makers to scale up evidence-based programs.

On the completion of the fellowship period the candidate can be considered for a full time position based on mutual interest and satisfaction from both parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the localisation and finalisation of focus group guides, surveys, and interview checklists

  • Participate in fieldwork activities, including facilitating focus groups and stakeholder interviews

  • Document, organise, and support analysis of qualitative data

  • Contribute to the drafting of study outputs, such as reports, data-use briefs, and advocacy materials

  • Support planning and implementation of dissemination workshops and capacity-building sessions

  • Track study milestones and assist in progress reporting

  • Liaise with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), media, and academia to promote engagement with the study

  • Integrate a gender lens at every stage of the policy data value chain

Eligibility

  • Engage in desk and field research, stakeholder consultations, and data analysis.

  • Master’s degree (or final year) in Public Policy, Disaster Management, Regional Planning, or related fields.
