ABT Society is seeking to recruit young professionals for exciting career opportunities in rural development in Tamilnadu.

Project:
The ABT Society (ABTS) is the ‘community development’ wing of Sakthi Group of Companies which aims at improving the socio-economic status of the farmers through various welfare activities and offer them livelihood opportunities both on and off farm across the different districts of Tamilnadu.

Responsibilities:

• Grass-root institution building - formation of groups among the milk producers esp. women/small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural labourers
• Create sustainable economic opportunities in dairying and allied activities amongst the farming community. 
• Capacity building/training of Group members/linking with institutions - Developing training modules
• Micro credit linkages for IGAs - Educating towards positive credit history - ensuring proper repayment of loans
• Setting up model income generation units- on-farm, off-farm and non-farm livelihood activities
• Mobilizing resources and interfacing with government departments and other stakeholders for the holistic development of the rural communities.
• Thematic clustering of the farmers
• Maintenance of MIS – Groups/ farmers
• Convergence of Government schemes
• Promote extension activities
• Undertake surveys and studies as and when assigned

Qualification:
Graduates or Post Graduates in social sciences/rural management/agricultural science.

Experience & Skills required:
3-7 years of working experience in grass-root institution building, capacity building and setting up income generation units is preferred. Since the nature of assignment involves interaction with farmers and milk producers, fluency in Tamil is a must. This position requires stay in and around the place of work.

Remuneration:
Will commensurate with the qualification and experience & will not be constraint for deserving candidate.
