Description
As you are aware, the Delhi government has recently opened the doors for privatisation of the water services. Though touted as a panacea for all problems related to water availability in the city, the total lack of transparency in a creeping privatisation process belies this. Though the people all over the world have experienced that the privatisation has only increased the inequalities in water distribution, the Delhi Government would have us believe that it intends to provide 24x7 water to all. The willful neglect of the DJB is designed to create a favourable atmosphere for privatisation.
As part of the process of facilitating a proper understanding of the issues, the Water Privitization-Commercialization Resistance Committee is planning a campaign from August 20 to September5, 2012. We invite you to a planning meeting to seek your cooperation in taking this agenda forward.
