About Indian Water Works Association
The Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) is a voluntary body of professionals concerned and connected with water supply for municipal, industrial, agricultural uses and treatment and disposal of wastewater. IWWA focuses basically on the entire "Water Cycle" encompassing the environmental, social, institutional and financing issues.
Background
Every summer there is a big hue and cry for drinking water in our cities. Rapid urbanization is leading to over-exploitation and pollution of water resources which leads to water scarcity, whereas on the other hand the demand for water increases every day.
This scenario has created several questions which need to be addressed in a proper fashion to bring the situation under control viz.
About the course
This 2 day training will equip participants with planning designing skills of rain water harvesting for storing of rain water for direct use & techniques for groundwater recharge.
Who should attend this training?
Engineers from Municipal Corporation, PHED, PWD, architects, urban planners, policy makers, environment consultants and other government officers who are interested in knowing theory, practice and policies of urban rainwater harvesting.

Classroom lectures by experts, site visit to rain water harvesting projects in city, practical exercises by participant in designing of a model RWH scheme.
