Description:
We are glad to inform you that our organization, NWO, Pune, in collaboration with GNMS, Pune, like in the previous years, will be organizing a one-day seminar cum panel discussion at GNMS, Agakhan Palace, Nagar Road, Pune on January 30, 2011 to pay tribute to our beloved Bapuji on the occasion of his death anniversary. GNMS, is a living memorial to Mahatma Gandhi: his wife Smt. Kasturaba Gandhi, Personal Secretary Shri Mahadev Desai, Secretary Shri Pyarelal and many other persons like Mira Ben, Sarojini Naidu, Dr.Sushila Nayar, etc. were interned here by the British Government during 'Quit India movement of 1942'.

Topic:
'What we must do to save the rivers of Maharashtra', it gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the function. We firmly believe that the course of actions which were unanimously accepted here in the workshop held on the occasion of Punyatithi of Bapuji on January 30, 2011 and submitted to the Honble Chief Minister as an appeal to save the rivers of Maharashtra, to be necessary to save the rives of Maharashtra. We would like various local NGOs and experts, Municipal Corporation members, Pollutions Control Board members and other government officials involved in river-conservation / river-pollution prevention works and interested local eminent persons from different streams of life to participate in the Function and have free, frank and open critical discussions on various aspects of the issue.

Since our rivers and forests will remain always invaluable for us, we must take time-bound decisive steps to make all our rivers completely and permanently free from pollution and transform one third of our land into forests. Surely Maharastra, the land of so many great saints and social reformers, has the moral and spiritual resources to provide the nation an example of an eco-friendly nonviolent culture of development with absolutely zeros river pollution. To begin with, let us make Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra, a perfectly river friendly city with zero river pollution.
